Divinum Rune Build Guide
Slot passives that change a fight, then take them into a real trial.
Runes are Divinum’s identity. You explore the island, beat bosses, and crack secrets to find passives that do something you can see: extra explosions, lightning, a new rule for Fury, a painful downside that still wins a room. This page turns that idea into four starter kits you can actually play. Rankings of the same ideas sit on the rune tier list. How to spend the meter those Runes feed sits on skills and Fury.
Do not start here if you cannot launch a slime. The combo guide is cheaper than a respec of your expectations.
How a Rune slot thinks
Official language matters. A +5% attack item is the example Sigil Games explicitly rejects. Expect:
- Visible effects. If you cannot tell the Rune fired in a combo replay, it is probably the wrong slot for a stylish game.
- Trade-offs. Power that “completely changes how you approach battles” is allowed to tax mana, range, or defence.
- Findability. Runes come from the world, bosses, and trials, not from a battle pass. Routing is map exploration.
The rune menu also shows life and mana shard counts. That is a hint: shards are part of the build. Extra orbs are a Rune you wear on the HUD.
Kit A — Juggle core (default fantasy)
Goal. Keep bodies in the air and let splash do the room.
What to wear. Passives that trigger on hit during launches, extend air time, or detonate when a combo milestone lands. Production trailers and indie showcases called out explosion and lightning modifiers as the opposite of boring percents — chase that feeling even when your exact drop names differ.
How to play. Ground string into uppercut, dash chase, air extras, recapture. See combat combos. Spend Fury at twenty-plus hits, not at four.
Fails when. Low ceilings, anti-air elites, or rooms that punish standing still under a juggle. Swap to Kit C or use the grounded alternate uppercut.
Kit B — Perfect-block duelist
Goal. Turn defence into a stun factory.
What to wear. Mana refunds, “on perfect block” effects, and anything that makes a shove toward stun more violent. You need mana shards from the island or this kit is a trap.
How to play. Hold less, tap more. Perfect block, launch, dump a skill, dash out. If the bar is empty, you dash — you do not “one more block.” Empty-mana stun is still a wipe in boss rooms.
Fails when. Projectile spam that drains the bar, or players who panic-hold. This kit is a reward for people who already like the combat, not a beginner crutch.
Kit C — Projectile hunter
Goal. Win catacombs and beam elites.
What to wear. Deflection, on-swat bonuses, debris synergy, extra air coverage from the second weapon. Launch-week players already called knocking shots and falling chunks into enemies a combat shortcut.
How to play. Stand where the junk flies. Swat, then close. The Elite Sentinel of Soulfire is the taste test: if a Rune does nothing to that beam, it does not belong in this kit.
Fails when. Empty arenas with no projectiles to steal. Respec back to Kit A.
Kit D — Trial survivor
Goal. Clear an optional ritual that has already insulted you.
What to wear. Extra life behaviour, conservative mana, one reliable panic skill, fewer glass-cannon trade-offs. This is the kit you use to collect the Rune that lets you play Kit A again.
How to play. Small combos, no empty-bar blocks, leave if collision bugs appear (see launch notes). Pride is not a drop.
Fails when. You keep it on for the whole campaign and then wonder why Divinum feels muted. Survivor is a key, not a lifestyle.
Putting a kit on Fjør tonight
- Count shards. If life orbs are still the tutorial amount, explore.
- Pick the room type you will farm: open, duel, beam, ritual.
- Equip the matching kit.
- Bind dash and block so the kit is physically possible — controls.
- After two wipes, change kit or change room. After two wins, look at the tier list and tighten the slots.
What we will not do
We will not invent a fake named catalogue of twenty-five Runes to look complete. Launch week is too early for that table to be honest. We will name archetypes, tell you where the pieces drop in general terms (secrets, bosses, trials), and update this same URL when community names settle.
If a patch nerfs a splash Rune, the updates hub will say so. Until then, wear the kit that matches the room, not the kit that matched a YouTube thumbnail from the demo.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many Runes are in Divinum?
Developer material described about twenty-five unique passives plus roughly a dozen skills. Exact live counts can shift with patches; collect them via map exploration.
What is a good first rune build?
A juggle core. It matches the store fantasy. Switch to a survivor kit only when a trial refuses to die.
Do I need mana shards for block builds?
Yes. Perfect block costs mana, and an empty bar can stun Fjør. Grab shards and read skills and Fury.
